Man, three others assault motorboy in Apapa

An 18-year-old man, identified as Umar Bello, was on Friday before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting a motorboy by beating him with fist blows on his face in Apapa.

Bello is facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and assault.

The prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Bassey, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on January 7, 2019 at about 8:30pm at Boundary Market, Ajegunle, Apapa.

“The defendant conspired together with three others to unlawfully and deliberately assault one Mohammed Badiri by heating him with fist blows on his face and he sustained swelling face which caused him bodily harm,” Bassey said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 172 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

The defendant pleaded guilty to all the charges brought against him.

Magistrate, A.S Okubule adjourned the case till January 14, 2019 for facts and sentence.
