A maritime lawyer, Dr. Emeka Akabogu, on Friday celebrated his 50th birthday and launched two maritime law books in commemoration of the event.
The black tie event was attended by many maritime stakeholders including the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Bashir Jamoh; Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello Koko; President, Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, Aminu Umar, and many others.
To promote learning and creativity in young persons through research and writing, Akabogu also doled out N500,000 to the winners of an essay competition organised as part of the event.
Akabogu is the Vice Chairman of OTL Africa Downstream Week; Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria International Maritime Summit (NIMS) and Senior Partner, Akabogu & Associates.
