Ministry intervenes in CRFFN controversy – Registrar

The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has said the Federal Ministry of Transport has intervened in the crisis over the election of its new governing council.
The Registrar of the council, Mr. Mike Jukwe, said in Abuja that paucity of funds had stalled the conduct of election of new council members.
He, however, said the transport minister would soon inaugurate an interim council to conduct the elections.

“The interim governing council for the council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria is something the minister actually is very keen because when the tenure of the former governing council lapsed, honestly we did not have the funds to conduct the elections.
“The minister came up with this idea which really is very good, that we should put in place an interim council whose responsibility and sole mandate will be to conduct election to bring in new practitioners,” he said.
