Nigerian Navy destroys vessel involved in crude oil theft 

Operatives of the Nigerian Navy have reportedly set ablaze a vessel allegedly involved in lifting stolen crude oil at the Escravos area of Delta State.

The vessel was arrested last Thursday with seven crew members close to Escravos in Warri South West Local Government Area of the state.

At the point of arrest, it was said to be carrying about 650 cubic metres of illegally lifted crude oil in five compartments. 

The vessel with registration number L85 B9.50 was reportedly taking the stolen crude oil to Ghana.
