NIMASA Director elected President of CILT Nigeria 

The Director, Administration and Personnel Service of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Ibrahim Jibril, has been elected as the new President of the Nigerian branch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

At the election conducted during the institute’s Annual General Meeting held penultimate weekend in Abuja, Jibril garnered 272 votes to defeat former Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University to defeat outgoing Deputy National President and former Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Professor Kayode Oyesiku who scored 48 votes.

The AGM was well attended by members of the institute drawn from the road transport, maritime, rail and aviation industries.

Until his election as President, Jibril was the International Vice President of CILT for Nigeria and have over 33 years of hands-on experience in the transport industry, covering aviation, transport education and the maritime sectors.

The new CILT Nigeria President is an Alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is also a Fellow of CILT; a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management; an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and a Companion of the Nautical Institute, London.

He takes over from retired Major General Tudunwada Usman.
