Olamide, Seun Kuti back Akeredolu on legalization of marijuana

Some top Nigerian artistes and showbiz stars have expressed support for the call by Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to legalize the cultivation of marijuana in the country.

Akeredolu had on Tuesday in Thailand said Nigeria will be shortchanging itself if it failed to tap into the legal marijuana market.

“We would be shortchanging ourselves if we failed to tap into the legal marijuana market. The state focus now is medical marijuana cultivation in controlled plantations under the full supervision of NDLEA and I strongly implore the Federal Government to take this seriously as this will create thousands of jobs for Nigerians,” Akeredolu had said on his Twitter handle.

Reacting to the post, Olamide tweeted support of the governor while popular actress Beverly Osu said “Better style”.

Afro beat musician, Seun Kuti, said, “Ehn Mr excellency sir, if u want me to move to your state, just say so. This beating about the bush is unnecessary. Afrobeat is about to switch home base y’all. Just imagine one good joint for my backache then better Ondo pounded yam to heal my stomach pain.”

Many Nigerian youths also expressed support for the governor.
