Two men namely, Jimoh Taiwo and Elijah Emmanuel, were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing electricity cable in Apapa.
Taiwo and Emmanuel are facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on January 13, 2019 at about 3am at Bale Street, Ijora-Badia, Apapa.
“The defendants conspired together to steal electricity cable property of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN),” Inedu said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
