Police arraign two men for stealing truck manager’s phone

Fake travel agent docked for N265,000 visa fraud
Two men namely, Obi Emma and Maduka Levite, were on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a truck manager’s phone.

The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on December 7, 2018 at about 7pm at Shoplife Hotel, Ajegunle.

“The defendants conspired together with three others at large to steal an Itel handset valued at N19,000 property of one Daniel Monday,” Aigbokhan said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

Magistrate K.A Ariyo granted the defendants bail in the sum of N10,000 each with one surety in like sum.

The surety, according to the Magistrate, must be a blood relation to the defendants and must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the case till January 16, 2019 for mention.
