Three men docked for stealing N2.5m car in Lagos

Three men – Yusuf Ezekiel (36), Onyekachi Onuoha (42) and Ibrahim Aliu (37) – were on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one Toyota Sienna car valued at N2.5 million.

The defendants are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The police prosecutor, Superintendent Gabriel Ekundayo informed the court that the defendants committed the offences on May 2, 2019 at about 10:30am at 32 Road, House 9 by 322 Junction, Festac Town, Lagos.

He said the stolen vehicle with registration number MUS 831 DQ belonged to Jennda Forts Academy.

The alleged offences, he said, are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. Chief Magistrate Mukaila Fadeyi granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum.

The surety is required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till June 4, 2019 for mention.
