Chairman Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) KLT Chapter, Alloy Anokwuru, has advised the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) not to expect its Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command to meet its July revenue target.
During a chat with SHIPS & PORTS DAILY, Anokwuru said that the recurrent traffic gridlock around Apapa since the beginning of the month has hindered the transfer of containers to the KLT terminal. He said that the bulk of revenue generated by KLT Customs Command is from containers transferred from Apapa and Tin Island ports.
He said that KLT has not received a single container for about a week owing to the recent traffic situation.
Anokwuru said that clearing agents operating at the terminal, out of worry, formed a task force to tackle the situation. This, according to him though, has not been effective.
