Truck driver, motor boy in court for stealing Dangote’s cable

A truck driver and his motor boy were arraigned on Thursday before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos for allegedly stealing cable worth N375,000 property of Dangote Flour Mills. 

The truck driver, Aliu Angle, 30 and Inuwa Lawan, 29 pleaded not guilty to the three-count charges bothering on conspiracy, breaking and stealing against them. 

The prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on September 23, 2017 at 4:10pm at Dangote Flour Mills. 

Balogun said the defendants broke and entered into the store of Dangote and stole 1.5mm cable of 150 meters valued N375,000.

According to him, the offences contravened sections 411, 309 (1&2) and 287 (5f) criminal laws of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties.

He adjourned the case till November 27, 2017 for mention.
