A 44-year-old truck driver, Chukwudi Ojide, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing the sum of N43,000 belonging to one Peter Nwafor.
Ojide is facing a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between October 21 and 22, 2018 at Alaha Ozumba, Kirikiri.
“The defendant stole the sum of N43,000 being the money given to him to convey a container to Tin-Can, Second Gate, Apapa which he converted to his own use, property of one Peter Nwafor,” Perezi said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Upon the guilty plea by the defendant, the Magistrate, O.A Erinle adjourned the case till October 31, 2018 for facts and sentence.
