An Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos on Friday granted N50,000 bail to two brothers, Ojetunde Durowaju (29) and Muyiwa Durowaju (22), for allegedly assaulting one motorboy in Apapa.
The duo is facing a one-count charge of assault.
The prosecutor, Inspector Olugbenga Salami, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 24, 2019 at about 12:20am at Kirikiri, Apapa.
“The defendants unlawfully assaulted one Abdullahi Abu by giving him fist blow on his left hand and held him on his clothes,” Salami said.
According to him, the offence is punishable under section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge against them.
Magistrate Rasheedat Williams-Isichei granted them N50,000 bail with one surety each in like sum.
The surety is required to be gainfully employed and also furnish the court with proof of three years tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case till July 29, 2019 for mention.
