Two men namely, Saka Alao, 65 and Fatai Sanni, 50 have been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly carrying a gun loaded with live cartridges at Apapa.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Marvellous Ogbonna told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 9, 2017 at about 1am at T.T.D Yard, Railway Compound, Apapa.
Ogbonna said the accused unlawfully had in their possession and under their control, one single barrel cut-to-size gun loaded with live cartridges.
According to him, the offence contravened Section 3(1) CAP R11, Robbery and Firearms (special provisions) Act, Law of the Federation, 2004.
Both pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge brought against them.
In her ruling, Magistrate Adenike Alaka granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till January 16, 2018 for mention.
