Two men docked for stabbing motorboy

Two men, Sunday Olofinjimi (42) and Odogun Ebi (33), were on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stabbing one motorboy at International Park, Mile 2, Lagos.

The duo is facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, threat, and assault. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ejembi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 4, 2020 at about 9am at International Park, Mile 2, Lagos.

“The defendants conspired together with others at large to violently threatened one Francis Adeleke with a broken bottle. They unlawfully assaulted him by beating him up and used a broken bottle to stab him on his left hand and face which caused him bodily harm,” Ejembi said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 56, 172 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate Rasheedat Williams-Isichei granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

She adjourned the matter till March 24, 2020 for mention.
