An Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos on Tuesday granted N50,000 bail to two men, Michael John (28) and Abdullahi (25), for allegedly damaging a television set valued at N17,000 in Lagos.
The duo is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, unlawful damage and breach of peace.
The prosecutor, Inspector Paul Ugorji, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on October 13, 2019 at about 3:30am at the Heaven Hotel, 1st Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos.
“The defendants conspired to unlawfully damage a Mogen television valued at N17,000 property of the Heaven Hotel.
“They conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace,” Ugorji said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 339 and 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Magistrate L.O Kazeem granted them N50,000 bail with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The sureties are required to be gainfully employed and furnish the court with two years tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till November 6, 2019 for mention.
