Two men steal truck shaft, batteries at Denca terminal 

15 Nigerians arrested in Malaysia for fraud 

 

Two men, Nonso William (25) and Chidera Obi (27), were on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing truck shaft and batteries at Denca terminal, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos. 

The duo is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Julius Babatope, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on January 8, 2020 at about 9pm at Denca Terminal, Amuwo-Odofin.

“The defendants conspired together to steal one shaft valued at N55,000 and two batteries valued at N100,000 of one truck  with registration number KSF 981 XD property of one Macef  Company Nigeria Limited,” Babatope said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate Enitan Ojudun granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of two years tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till January 21, 2020 for mention.
