Man docked for stealing fertilizer at Apapa port

A 28-year-old man, Benard Amadi has been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing fertilizer at ENL Consortium Terminal at the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and entering the port without a port pass.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun told the court that the defendant committed the offences on August 8, 2017 at about 5:30am at ENL Terminal.

Balogun said Amadi attempted to steal fertilizer, the property of ENL Company at Berth 12 ot the terminal.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened sections 411, 21(1) and 400(1) of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.

Magistrate Temitope Babalola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N25,000 with one responsible surety. He adjourned the case till September 4, 2017 for mention.
