Man assaults motorboy with bottle 

India arrests Nigerian, four others with 120g of drug

 

A 39-year-old man, Idowu Oba, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly assaulting one motorboy by hitting him with a bottle on his head. 

Oba is facing a one-count charge of assault. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. 

The prosecutor, Inspector Olugbenga Salami, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 16, 2020 at Jerry Park, Ajegunle. 

“The defendant unlawfully assaulted one Emeka Ohanuka by hitting him with a bottle on his head which caused me grievous harm,” Salami said. 

According to him, the offence is punishable under section 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate O.A Erinle granted the defendant bail in the sum of N80,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government. 

She adjourned the case till February 12, 2020 for mention.
