A 25-year-old man, identified as Lekan Rasaq, was on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly damaging one Plasma TV and other properties in Apapa.
Rasaq is facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, wilful damage, threat and breach of peace.
The prosecutor, Inspector Olugbenga Salami, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on May 17, 2019 at about 11:11pm at Kirikiri Road, Ajegunle, Apapa.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to wilfully damage one plasma TV valued at N55,000, 7 plastic chairs and 5 tables properties of one Ogene Peter,” Salami said.
The prosecutor also said that the defendant threatened violence and conducted himself in a disorderly manner on the street.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 350, 56 (1)(a)(b)(2), 168(1)(d)(g)(h) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Magistrate Taiwo Popoola granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till June 24, 2019 for mention.
