A 27-year-old man, Tayo Adeseko, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly damaging one Nissan truck and one Honda motorcycle at Amukoko, Lagos.
Adeseko is facing a two-count charge of willful and malicious damage. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Inspector Marvellous Obongha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on August 1, 2019 at about 10:25pm at No 7, Otua Street, Amukoko, Lagos.
“The defendant wilfully and maliciously damage the driver side mirror and side glass of one Nissan truck valued at N46,000 property of one Abdulsalami Ayinla.
“The defendant wilfully and maliciously damage the complete headlight of one Honda motorcycle valued at N26,000 property of one Kehinde Adara,” Obongha said.
According to the prosecutor, the offences are punishable under sections 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate, Aisha Shittabey, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. She ordered that one of the sureties must be related to the defendant, be gainfully employed, furnish the court with proof of two years tax payment to Lagos State Government and must provide means of identification and have their addresses verified.
Shittabey adjourned the case till January 21, 2020 for trial.
