The police on Friday arraigned a 30-year-old man, Ahmed Ibrahim, before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one Bajaj Boxer motorcycle valued at N200,000 in Lagos.
Ibrahim is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tedunjaye, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on December 18, 2019 at about 5:30am at Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos.
“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal one Bajaj Boxer motorcycle valued at N200,000 property of one Sule Musa,” Tedunjaye said.
The prosecutor said the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate M.B Amore granted him the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to be gainfully employed and furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the case till January 24, 2020 for mention.
