Man docked for stealing trailer hooks in Apapa

A 37-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel Okhade, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing trailer hooks worth N42,000 in Apapa.

Okhade is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 30, 2019 at about 6am at Akanemeh Street, Comfort Oboh Estate, Kirikiri Town, Apapa.

“The defendant stole 7 pieces of trailer hooks valued at N42,000 properties of one Izuchukwu Nkemmehi,” Onaiwu said.

According to her, the offence is punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.

Magistrate Olukayode Kadiri granted him N50,000 bail with two sureties each in like sum.

The sureties are required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till August 19, 2019 for mention.
