Man docked in Apapa for stealing car part

An 18-year-old man, Ibrahim Obagun, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one Lexus Jeep chrome at Berger Cement, Kirikiri Town, Lagos.

Obagun is facing a one-count charge of stealing. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Inspector Paul Ugorji, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 16, 2020 at Berger Cement, Kirikiri Town, Lagos.

“The defendant stole one Lexus Jeep chrome valued at N65,000 property of one Ojuope Mayowa Alex,” Ugorji said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate L.O Kazeem granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. The surety is required to be a blood relative to the defendant and furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till March 25, 2020 for mention.
