A 42-year-old man, Timothy Iliya, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing one Bajaj Boxer motorcycle at Waterside, Apapa.
Iliya is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adeniyi Balogun, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on December 6, 2019 at about 9:30am at Waterside, Apapa.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to steal one Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number EKY 582 QN valued at N80,000 property of one Aminu Yusuf,” Balogun said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate T.R Oladele granted him bail in the sum of N25,000 with one surety in like sum. The surety is required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case till January 14, 2020 for mention.
