A 28-year-old man, Uchenna Igbegbe, was on Thursday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing the sum of N190,000 with Diamond Bank’s ATM card at Kirikiri.
Igbegbe is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Gabriel Ekundayo told the Court that the defendant committed the offences on March 3, 2019 at No 2, Comfort Oboh Street, Kirikiri.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to withdraw the sum of N190,000 with Diamond Bank’s ATM card property of one Ogbu Oluchukwu,” Ekundayo said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Chief Magistrate, Muikaila Fadeyi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety.
The surety, according to the Chief Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the matter till May 22, 2019 for mention.
