The police on Tuesday arraigned Sunday Ogundare (33) before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a wallet containing four ATM cards, driver’s license and cash in Lagos.
Ogundare is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on November 30, 2019 at about 5:30pm at Rumos Event Centre, 1st Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large to steal a wallet containing Access Bank ATM card, GTB ATM card, Zenith Bank ATM card, UBA ATM card, driver’s license and cash sum of N98,000 properties of one Festus Nwiue,” Onaiwu said.
According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate O.S Abioye granted him N50,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
He adjourned the matter till January 7, 2020 for mention.
