Three men namely Anselm Osarogbo, Agbaje Sikiru and Samuel Ogu were docked for allegedly stealing crude salt worth N100,000 belonging to Dangote Group of Company and worth.
The 1st and 2nd Defendants who had pleaded guilty previously to the three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and unlawful damage of crude salt changed plea before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Thursday.
The prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen told the court the court that the defendants committed the offence on October 20, 2017 at about 11:05am at Wharf Road, Apapa.
Esebamen said, “The defendants conspired together to steal 10 bags of crude salt vauled N100,000 property of Dangote Group of Companies.”
The prosecutor added that the defendants wilfully and unlawfully damaged 26 metric tons of crude salt valued N1.7 million property of Dangote Group.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 287 and 350 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The Magistrate, O.M Ajayi had earlier granted the defendants bail in the um of N500,000 with one surety.
She adjourned the case till June 5, 2018 for trial.
