Transport Minister inaugurates new NPA, NIMASA boards today

The Minister of Transport, Senator Idris Umar, will today at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja inaugurate the respective Boards of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

President Goodluck Jonathan last month approved the constitution of the Boards of Directors of the two agencies.

The approval, which was announced through a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, had Chief Tony Anenih as Chairman of NPA Board, while Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, Messrs Hamza Dan Mahawi, Lekan Mustapha, Aminu Baba Danagundi, and Austin Enyonnia Cosmos, as well as a representative of the Federal Ministry of Transport will serve as members.

Lt. Col Agbu Kefas (Rtd) was named Chairman of NIMASA Board, with Messrs Ibrahim Mark, Hassan Baba, and Aliyu Usman, as well as a representative of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Federal Ministry of Labour, and Nigerian Navy (NN), respectively, as members.
