A 38-year-old truck driver, Peter Okoro, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stabbing a sales boy with broken bottle on his face.
Okoro is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Friday Inedu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on December 11, 2019 at about 10:30pm at Ijegun-Egba Satellite Town, Lagos.
“The defendant conspired together with others at large and unlawfully used a broken bottle to stab one Jeru Omogini on his face which caused him grievous harm,” Inedu said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 245 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate T.R Oladele granted him N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The sureties are required to be gainfully employed and furnish the court with evidence of two years tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case till January 14, 2020 for mention.
