Two motorboys plead guilty to stealing N210,000 trailer tarpaulins

Two motorboys, Salisu Abubakar (24) and Ibrahim Isah (18), on Wednesday pleaded guilty to stealing three trailers tarpaulin worth N210,000 before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos.

The duo is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on September 13, 2019 at about 11pm at Dangote Cement Workshop, Abule Oshun in Ojo, Lagos.

“The defendants conspired to steal three trailers tarpaulins valued at N210,000 property of Nascon Allied Plc, a subsidiary of Dangote Group,” Ekpo said.

According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendants pleaded guilty to the charges against them.

Magistrate L.O Kazeem adjourned the case till October 2, 2019 for facts and sentence.
