Car dealer stabs colleague with broken bottle at Kirikiri

A 43-year-old car dealer, Onyeka Arinze was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing his colleague with broken bottle on the neck and right hand at Kirikiri.

Arinze is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and assault.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo told the Court that the defendant committed the offences on March 28, 2019 at about 6pm at Kirikiri Road by UBA, Berger Auto Market, Kirikiri Town, Apapa.

According to him, the offences are punishable under section 411 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with three sureties in like sum.

The sureties, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

He adjourned the case till April 29, 2019 for mention.
