A 38-year old man, Achunine Franklyn, was on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly impersonating one clearing agent, Aderogba Tunde.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is facing a two-count charge, bothering on false representation and stealing.
The prosecutor, Alexander Esebamen, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 3, 2018 at about 4pm at PTML, Mile 2, Apapa.
He said that the defendant fraudulently presented himself as one Aderogba Tunde and having same Access Card of PTML, which he knew to be false.
Esebamen added that the defendant stole the Access Card of PTML meant for Tunde.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 382 and 287(1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Franklyn, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges while the Magistrate, Mrs. Adenike Alaka, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till April 10, 2018 for mention.
