Man pleads guilty to stealing N.1m iphone

A 33-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel Nonso, on Monday pleaded guilty before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court to stealing one iphone valued at N100,000 in Lagos.

Nonso is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on September 1, 2019 at about 5am at 304 Old Ojo Road, Premier Hotel, Kuje-Amuwo, Lagos.

“The defendant conspired with others at large to steal one iphone 7plus valued at N100,000 property of one Merabel Monday,” Onaiwu said.

According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Upon the guilty plea by the defendant, Magistrate Tolani Shekoni-Adeyekun adjourned the case till September 10, 2019 for facts and sentence.
