Three men, Fatai Ibrahim (21),Sherif Saka (22) and Ayomide Aremu (30), were on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly damaging one Sienna space bus at Amukoko area of Lagos State.
The trio is facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace and malicious damage. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Inspector Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on January 5, 2020 at about 8pm along Agbamu Street, Raimi Igbaja Street and Owodunni Street, Amukoko.
“The defendants conspired together with others at large to unlawfully assemble and begin to act in a disorderly manner as to disturb the peace of residence of along Agbamu Street, Raimi Igbaja Street and Owodunni Street, Amukoko.
“They unlawfully and maliciously damaged all the side glasses of one Sienna space bus with registration number ABC 981 GQ, property of one Nike Lawal and also damaged one sign board property of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government,” Onaiwu said.
According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 45(2), 339(1) and 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
Magistrate O.S Abioye granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum. The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government. One of the sureties must be a blood relative to each of the defendants.
He adjourned the case till February 11, 2020 for mention.
