3 docked for stealing N3.7m cosmetics at NPA building

Three men, Bamidele Samson (32), Gabriel Ojo (38) and Yunusa Azeez (45), were on Friday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing N3.7 million worth of cosmetics at Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Commercial Building, Apapa.

The trio is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Inspector Francisca Job, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on October 5, 2019 at NPA Commercial Building, Apapa.

“The defendants conspired together to steal 34 cartons of Kajal eyeliner valued at N3.7 million property of Factotum Nigeria Limited/African Sales Trade Agency,” Job said.

According to her, the offences are punishable under sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Magistrate A. I Alaka granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum. The sureties must be gainfully employed and are required to furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos State Government. Each surety must be a blood relative to the defendants.

She adjourned the case till March 26, 2020 for mention.
